For decades, buy-out has been the ultimate goal for DB pension schemes. But with rising interest rates creating surpluses across many schemes, we’re seeing a strategic rethink taking place.

The upcoming Pension Schemes Bill has potential for facilitating surplus release from ongoing schemes – potentially making “run-on” strategies more attractive to employers.
