The only way is up – proposed increases to statutory benefit payments from April 2021

The Department for Work and Pensions has published a proposed schedule of benefit rates for 2021/22. The schedule sets out proposed increases to the following weekly rates:

  • Statutory maternity pay and maternity allowance: £151.97 (up from £151.20)
  • Statutory sick pay: £96.35 (up from £95.85)
  • Statutory paternity pay: £151.97 (up from £151.20)
  • Statutory shared parental pay: £151.97 (up from £151.20)
  • Statutory adoption pay: £151.97 (up from £151.20)

The rates will be confirmed once an order is made, but the above figures are expected to apply from 4 April 2021.
